| “I accepted Christ as my Savior this week!” “I learned that I needed to love in action, not just in words.” “I was able to overcome many of my fears this week.” “I am going to read my Bible every day.” These are just a few of the statements of testimony that were given during Thursday night campfires during Summer Camp 2009. These words are the most rewarding we as a staff can hear. We marvel at the amazing work of God in changing the hearts of young people. Over 60 ranchers claimed salvation this summer and more made commitments to reading their Bibles, prayer, and forgiveness. This summer we welcomed around 800 ranchers to the mountain. Over three hundred of these were here for the first time. They came from twenty-eight different states as well as Ontario, Canada. We had three new camps this summer- Frontier Bound, Horsemania, and Buckaroo Camp. The Frontier Bound ranchers experienced a wet, but exciting time out in the wilderness as they learned survival and outdoor skills in the midst of God’s creation. Horsemania was a favorite this summer. Ranchers in this camp had a week of all-around horse experiences, from driving to vaulting. Buckaroo Camp was a two night camp for ranchers ages 6-8. This introductory camp was a time full of energy and new experiences! Our traditional Wild West Weeks and Horse Camps also went well and were a time of spiritual growth and exciting activities. Over two hundred summer staff and volunteers made this summer camp season a success. Whether serving in the kitchen, lawn crew, bunkhouse, or barn, our staff gave their all and found reward in the lives that were changed because of their ministry. Summer Camp 2009 was a remarkable season of seeing God at work, revealing again His faithfulness and love. We look forward to what He will do in the year to come. |

| Volunteers competed this summer in the Kitchen Challenge from all over the U.S. and Canada. The competition of choosing the best all-around crew in: thoroughness in meal preps, cheerfulness in serving on the mission field, speed in meal clean-ups, bunk house inspection, and character qualities of punctuality, joy, attentiveness, being cooperative, and transparency in Christ. Our 2008 winners are: 1st Place: Crew from Week 7 2nd Place: Crew from Week 6 Poster Winners: It was difficult to select - they were all winners and sure to have caught the eye and hearts of those who passed through the food lines. Thank you for participating in this aspect of ministry! A huge hearty thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work and efforts to serve the Lord this past summer at MMR in the kitchen ministry. May the Lord bless you with the desire “to change” and be an example of a “living epistle.” |
