ANIMALS: No personal pets are permitted, however special arrangements can be made for boarding horses during the C.A.M.P. year.
CHURCH ATTENDANCE: Apprentices are expected to support the MMR ministry by attending chapel services during retreats and summer camp. Apprentices will be expected to attend local churches the remainder of Sunday’s in the calendar year. Transportation can be arranged through staff families or car pooling.
CLOTHING: Appropriate dress is expected for various types of ministry. Sunday attire for Sunday meetings and chapels, recreational attire appropriate for specific sports and recreation, western attire for visiting and representing MMR at certain functions.
DATING: No dating is permitted. Students are committing solely to develop their relationship with Christ for the year.
ENTERTAINMENT: All entertainment must meet Ranch standards. Movies in the Ranch library are always available for viewing. Music and other movies must be staff approved.
FINANCES: Applicants must be financially debt-free. Tuition covers housing, meals, (except for some travel), utilities, equipment, administrative costs, insurance, and development costs. Apprentices are responsible for texts, riding apparel, phone calls, and transportation to and from town. Payments plans may be arranged with the finance office, and must be agreed upon in advance. Failure to comply will result in termination as an apprentice. C.A.M.P. carries a secondary accident policy on its apprentices. The apprentice’s insurance carrier is the primary coverage. Doctor and chiropractic visits are the responsibility of the student.
INTERNET: Computers are primarily used for study. There is limited internet access. There are computers in the library with access to e-mail programs for the apprentice use.
HOUSING: All necessary furnishings for dorms are provided by MMR. Utilities are also provided. With permission from Director of Guests Services, Apprentice guests may be housed for short visits. Dorms are not co-ed.
MEDICINES/HEALTH POLICY: Apprentices are to supply their own medicines and bandages. The Ranch has items that can be used on an emergency basis only. An excuse from the apprentice nurse-on-duty must be obtained before being excused from classes.
OFF DUTY HOURS: Apprentices will obtain permission from their resident staff advisor for any intent to be off the Ranch. Dorm curfew is 11:00pm. Apprentices will assist with chores on weekends on a rotating schedule.
PHONE: Phones are available in each dorm room for local access use only. Long distance calls are made through calling cards. The dorm room phones have numbers separate from the Ranch number.
VEHICLES: Owners of vehicles are responsible for their own insurance, care and operation of vehicles. They are parked in the Town Hall parking lot. Use of Ranch vehicles must be pre-approved for insurance purposes through the Ranch office.
SUMMER POLICIES: During the summer camp operation, apprentice curfew is the same as all other summer staff. Apprentices will also acquire permission from their summer supervisor to be off the Ranch during the summer.
